To Soy or not to Soy

Soy is a controversial plant in the field of Natural Health. While many "natural food" companies have Soy in their products, in truth it is not the best thing for you to eat. Think of the Soy Bean Plant as a Liver. What does the Liver in our body do? It detoxifies the body by sucking up all the impurities. This is exactly what the Soy Bean does for soil. Soy is an excellent resource for farmers who want to clean up their soil however that doesn't mean it should later be harvested and eaten! Some people do eat Liver but I don't recommend that as a nutritious meal. Again others may not again but their are much healthier meats to consume. Soy retains all of the toxins it pulled from the soil. If we eat soy we are essentially eating all of those toxins in the ground and if that soy wasn't organically grown you are swallowing a mouth full of pesticides and other nasty chemicals. Their is an argument for organically grown soy, talk to your organic farmer from your local farmer's market about it. As for me I choose to avoid it all together. It is also a difficult plant to digest.

Soy also can be quite harmful for woman who are recovering from Breast, Cervical or Ovarian Cancers as it is an estrogen producing plant. It may interfere with your hormonal health and create unwanted side effects. Avoid all estrogen baring plants.
I personally am moody enough and don't want fluctuating hormones.

If you drink Soy as an alternative to milk try Rice Milk, Almond Milk, Hemp Milk (yes, I said Hemp milk. It is good for other things too, hippie) or Coconut milk.
